This weekend, an army base in South Antrim was attacked by dissident Republicans, which the Real IRA have claimed they were responsible for. Two soliders were killed and 4 people are seriously ill in hospital which includes the two pizza delivery men. This is the first time in 12 years that a British solider has been murdered in Northern Ireland. It's clear to see that people in Northern Ireland have been left shocked and outraged by the recent events and for most it is a horrible reminder of what has happened in the past in Northern Ireland. Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness said of the attacks, "I supported the IRA during the conflict, I myself was a member of the IRA but that war is over. Now the people responsible for that last night's incident are clearly signalling that they want to resume or restart that war." Ian Paisley Jnr. also had to say of the attacks "For the last 10 years, people believed things like this happened in foreign countries, places like Basra. Unfortunately it has returned to our doorstep."
Despite the horrible attacks, it seems as though all parties in Northern Ireland are united and are determined that these attacks will not derail the peace process.

Ridiculous.
Two Chinese dates from the upcoming Oasis world tour because the Chinese goverment have banned them. The Chinese government recently discovered that Noel Gallagher had played at a Free Tibet gig TWELVE YEARS AGO and that Oasis were involved in the Free Tibet campaign.
Oasis' spokesperson said in a statement "According to the show's promoters, officials within the Chinese Ministry of Culture only recently discovered that Noel Gallagher appeared at a Free Tibet Benefit Concert on Randall's Island in NY in 1997 and have now deemed that the band are consequently unsuitable to perform to their fans in the Chinese Republic on 3rd and 5th of April, during its 60th anniversary year. Oasis are extremely disappointed that they are now being prevented from undertaking their planned tour of mainland China and hope that the powers that be within China will reconsider their decision and allow the band to perform to their Chinese fans at some stage in the future."
I, personally, was really looking forward to this (not that I was going or anything like), but because this would have been the first time Oasis were going to play in China.
I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY, HU JINTAO.
